Arik Recommences Flight Operations To Liberia October 5

Nigeria’s largest carrier, Arik Air, has announced the resumption of flight operations to Monrovia, the Liberian capital on October 5.

The resumption of flight to Liberia is coming 14 months after the airline suspended its operations to the West Africa country following the outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in July 2014.

The decision to resume flight to Liberia is coming just as a clean bill of health was given to Liberia by the World Health Organisation (WHO) certifying the country free of the EVD on Saturday, May 9, 2015 after 42 days without a new case of the virus.

The airline made this known in an online statement signed by the Associate Vice President, Marketing and Communication, Jide Alade and made available to Journalists yesterday.

Alade said: “We are pleased to announce that Arik Air will be resuming flights to Monrovia, Liberia from 5 October 2015.
