Faan, ACI Sign MOU to Boost Manpower

Airport Council International (ACI) and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for manpower development.

During the signing, the Managing Director of FAAN, Saleh Dunoma said the partnership between FAAN and the Airports Council International would enhance skills, which would be deployed to enhance performance and improvement of facilities in all the airports managed by the agency.

Dunoma said the partnership would facilitate identification and closing gaps to achieve the executive leadership's goal of airport certification.

The MOU was signed in Montreal, Canada by the Director General of ACI world, Angela Gittens and Dunoma, Managing Director of FAAN.

Gittens during the signing expressed delight in FAAN'S commitment to the realisation of this partnership.

According to her, Nigeria being the largest economy is taking its proper role in championing this critical aspect.

The signing ceremony was an outcome of the recently concluded ACI Airport Excellence in Saftey (APEX) reviews, aimed at identifying and closing gaps to achieve the executive leadership's goal of Airport certification.

The occasion was witnessed by the Capt. Alkali Talba, Director Safety and Technical policy, Ministry of Aviation, Capt Muktar Usman, Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Head of Nigerian mission to ICAO, Martins Nwafor, General Manager, Airport Planning and Technical Services Ms Nse Ikiddeh, Deputy General Manager Operations, Yusuf Mohammed Kabir and other top management of the aviation agencies. The team from ACI was supported by Danny Boutin, senior manager APEX programmes and Kevin Caron, Head Global Training.
