Nahco Takes Over Management of Delta Airport

Nigeria's ground-handling services provider, nahco aviance, has taken over the running of the Osubi airport in Warri, Delta State. The airport is owned by the Shoreline Group.

The take-over followed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Shoreline Group recently for the company to provide ground-handling services at the airport.

The agreement gives nahco aviance the exclusive right for ground-handling services at the airport including. The services include ramp and cargo operation.

 Carriers operating at the Osubi airport include Aero, Arik and Escravos, which is operated by Aero.

According to a statement by NAHCO's General Manager, Corporate Communications, Mr. Tayo Ajakaye, the MoU provides for nahco aviance to negotiate separate agreements with the other operators using the airport.

The company's Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Seyi Adewale said that there had been relatively good successes through public-private partnership (PPP) initiatives, with the FGN's concessionaire initiatives in the aviation sub-sector being a good example.
