Following resumed activities at the Maiduguri Airport, the Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Kashim Shetima has commended the MD/CEO of FAAN Eng. Saleh Dunoma.
The governor also commended Engr. Dunoma over the National Productivity Merit Award conferred on him by President Mohammadu Buhari, along with 11 others in Abuja.
He described Eng. Dunoma as a worthy ambassador of the State who has distinguished himself.
He charged Eng Dunoma to see the award as a charge to further excel in his tour of duty.
Governor Shetima stated this in Maiduguri while receiving the Managing Director who was on a working visit to the Maiduguri airport, FAAN head Corporate Affairs Mr. Yakubu Dati said.
The Shehu of Bornu, Alhaji Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi, while receiving him in his palace, described Eng Dunoma as a worthy son who has made the Emirate proud. He thanked President Mohammadu Buhari for finding him worthy.
According to Dati, the FAAN MD used the occasion to visit the Maiduguri airport.
At the airport, Eng Dunoma charged the staff to adhere to safety and security which has remained his priority.
He said the on-going renovation at the airport would soon be completed and the airport would now wear a new look, expressing the hope that with time more people travel through the airport as peace returns to Borno state.
He said renovation and expansion are also going on at different airports in the country and they would also be completed adding, that the objective was to ensure improved airports with better services and ease of facilitation.
Dunoma also noted that FAAN is receiving many awards recently because of the improvement going on at the nation's airports, observing that more passengers would continue to travel through the airports so they have to be passenger friendly with improved facilities and that is the major task facing the authority.
